The balloon wheel carnival ride sits silent after heavy rain on Saturday evening caused the fair board to close down the carnival early and cancel the side by side mud racing event on July 24, 2010 at the Boone County Fair. “The carnival shut down and everbody decided to go home,” said Sgt. Ron Skiles of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department. “But we’re gunna be back and hope for better weather tomorrow.”
